To be quite honest, I don’t journal even though i always wanted to. I always let the “busyness” of life get in the way. I wake, i say my prayers and then start taking care of my family.

But i am always inspired by women like you and especially articles as this one to really give journaling a go. I know it is good for my spiritual and mental wellbeing.

I will have to do it. 💖

I, too, value my morning prayer and meditation time. Starting my day with God has given me a sense of direction for the day. Upon awakening, I make a bee line to my prayer room. Some mornings begin slow and I know that God is happy that I simply arrived! I start my prayer routine writing a gratitude list. I can wake up cranky, lol, so starting with gratitude the first thing in the morning relieves me of the bondage of my negative thinking. Gratitude draws me into an awareness of God’s blessings in my life, from the moment I open my eyes. My prayer time is spent in Scripture receiving God’s word, knowing I am loved by Him. Scripture then gets me into meditation. I have found that I can write either before, during, or after meditation. As you said, Carrie, my pen flows, and through this process I receive insights and guidance from the Holy Spirit. This practice has strengthened my awareness of God’s Presence throughout the day and helps me to remember that I am loved by Him and He is leading me on a mission to show others how much He loves them too! Thanks for sharing these insights with us Carrie!
